I can fly high, and shit on your head

Thankyou, Kate Nash, for those truly inspiring words.

OK, so it's been over a year since I've blogged here. That's far too long. But what reignited my Xanga flame, you might ask. It was a recent trip to Scotland.

It was Mo's 21st birthday, and several of us (Chris & Mo, Zach, Emily, Hayley and myself) booked a cottage in Scotland for a week to celebrate. Whilst there, the topic of Xanga came up, and some of us said that we would start Xanga again. And that's how we got to today.

Currently, my life is noisy; the washing machine is going with clothes being cleaned from the holiday, the CD player is playing (Lenny LeBlanc's "Who will ascend?" from his new album, "All For Love"), and Reuben's wheels are sqeaking. Nothing that can't be sorted out, though.

Time to go and put some more washing on, so I shall say goodbye for now!

How often do we judge?

I've judged today.

I'm not proud of it, but it happens. So often we notice the specks in other people's eyes, but notice not the log.

But I put it to you that we often do notice the logs in our eyes, but choose to ignore them, or dwell on them too much.

Speaking from experience, dwelling on them makes us very introvert and self-obsessed. I know it's true for me. For years, there's been something wrong in my life.

For years I've tried to sort it.

For years, it has remained.

Why? That's something I'll never understand. Never.

But something I will understand; the love of friends, despite who we are and what we do, friends are there, no matter what. It's really humbling to see people gathering around you to support you when you finally reveal to them the well-hidden log that is in your eye.

So, here's to you, my friends. You know who you are and what you've done.

One thing you'll never know is what it means to me.

And speaking of Buddhists...

Walking through town on my lunch yesterday, a Buddhist tried to stop me to talk to me about...Buddhism, I assumed. But I was running short on time, so didn't stop. He tried to stop me again on my way back to the office, but I was even later then.

Anyway, I get back to the office, and someone else working with me finished his lunch just after me, and was telling us about how he was stopped by a Buddhist in town. He described him, and he was the same one that stopped me. I said how he tried to stop me, but I didn't have time. The other guy (Gary) then proceeded to say how he had a chat with him, and as he was walking away, the Buddhist stopped him, and gave him a cookbook. It's called "A Higher Taste", subtitled "500 Hare Krishna recipes; no karma cooking!", and because I was the only vegetarian on the team, Gary gave me the cookbook.

Talk about Karma!

Reuben's on his way! I'm picking him up from Newcastle on Sunday!

I need to move on.

Nay, I will move on.

You ever get to that point in life where you've held with something for so long that it becomes not a part of who you are, but it becomes you?

And has that thing ever been something that you've never wanted to be you, but has been you because you felt it should be?

And has that thing ever defied who you are; what you are?

If that doesn't make sense to you, then you don't know where I am, and I hope that you never do.

Alternatively, if that does make sense to you, then could you help me? Because I really don't know what to do. I know that for the sake of everything, I need to move on, but don't want to, as I know I will lose friends, as I already have.

So, I guess the question for those of you who are still following me would be; what do I do? Do I deny myself, or be myself?

Amazon is The Devil.

Or something else with similar, gripping powers.

And in other news, I've been told that a good question to ask is; "What about me?". I'm not sure I lie in full agreement. I mush prefer "What about you?".

So, with that in mind;

What about you? How are you today? Have you had a good day? Got anything planned for the next week?

She is everything I need, that I never knew I wanted. She is every thing I want that I never knew I needed.

Thank you, The Fray.

Thanks, too, to Amazon for providing me with the Fray.

Lewy-Amazonian relationships are bitter-sweet...

And talking of subliminal advertising, do we think this really works?

And if not, then just go to www.join-me.co.uk.

Maybe not so subliminal, but you should all join. No excuses!

The world will be a better place if you all commit to committing random acts of kindness.

Show the world!
